Welcome to the REGENT Business School Business School Employability platform. By accessing or using our platform, whether as a student/alumni or employer, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined below. These Terms are designed to ensure a safe, respectful and professional environment for all users and to protect yours and our integrity.

 

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from the use of the platform shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.

 

1. General Conditions

1.1 The Employability platform is a service offered by REGENT Business School to facilitate connections between students/alumni and potential employers.
1.2 Use of this platform is voluntary and open only to REGENT Business School students, alumni and vetted employers.
1.3 All users agree to conduct themselves with professionalism, honesty and integrity while engaging through the platform.

1.4 All users are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the information in their profiles and postings. REGENT Business School will not be liable for consequences arising from inaccurate or outdated data.

 

2. For Students and Alumni

2.1 Eligibility & Representation

  • Users must be current students or alumni of REGENT Business School.
  • You agree to provide accurate, truthful and up-to-date information when registering, applying for jobs or participating in programmes.

2.2 Professional Conduct

  • Students/Alumni must act professionally in all interactions with employers.
  • Misrepresentation of qualifications, failure to attend interviews without valid reasons or unethical behaviour (e.g. fraud, harassment, breach of employer confidentiality) may lead to permanent removal from the platform.

2.3 Safeguarding

  • REGENT Business School aims to protect students/alumni from exploitation and/or unsafe work environments. Students/Alumni must report any suspicious, unsafe or unethical practices by employers to the Employability Officer immediately.
  • Students/Alumni are advised to familiarise themselves with labour laws and to seek clarification before accepting unpaid roles or internships. 

3. For Employers

3.1 Eligibility & Posting Criteria

  • Opportunities must be legal, ethical, non-discriminatory and aligned with fair labour practices.

3.2 Employer Responsibilities

  • Employers must provide accurate job descriptions, clarify remuneration (where applicable) and avoid vague or misleading roles.
  • Any form of exploitation, coercion, harassment or abuse directed toward students/alumni will result in immediate blacklisting and possible legal action.
  • Employers may not use the platform to recruit for multi-level marketing (MLM), commission-only roles without a base or jobs involving adult content or unsafe working conditions.

3.3 Workplace Environment

  • Employers are expected to offer a respectful, inclusive and safe workplace in compliance with labour and occupational health laws.
  • Employers must not pressure students/alumni into overtime, unpaid tasks beyond the scope of agreed work or working under unsafe or unsuitable conditions.

4. REGENT Business School Rights and Limitations

4.1 REGENT Business School does not guarantee job placement, nor does it vet every employer interaction or supervise contracts between students/alumni and employers.
4.2 REGENT Business School reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts with or without notice for violations of these Terms or suspected misconduct.
4.3 REGENT Business School disclaims liability for any damages, losses or disputes arising out of placements or engagements initiated through this platform.

 

5. Data Protection and Privacy

5.1 User data will be processed and stored in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
5.2 Users consent to the use of their data for career services, reporting and programme improvement purposes.
5.3 Personal data will not be shared with third parties without explicit consent, unless required by law. Employers are not considered third-parties.

5.4 The Platform may integrate third-party tools or services. REGENT Business School is not responsible for the performance or data practices of these services.

 

6. Reporting Misconduct or Abuse

To report unethical behaviour, abuse or exploitation by an employer or student/graduate, please contact the :

7. Amendments

REGENT Business School reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Users will be notified of any significant changes. Continued use of the platform implies acceptance of the revised Terms.
